A Ragtime Revue with Eric McDowell

Part of the Winter/Spring Up Close & Musical Series

Featuring the Music of Scott Joplin

This event has been postponed from the original 2/26 date. A new date will be announced soon.

Eric McDowell, retired Berry College (Georgia) mathematics professor, moved to Westfield with his wife, Jackie, in June 2022. His lifelong love of ragtime began in grade school with a simple arrangement of “The Entertainer” — a spark that never faded.

In honor of Black History Month, this program also highlights ragtime’s essential place in American music: a groundbreaking African American art form that paved the way for jazz, blues, and the popular music that followed.

Join us for a lively, syncopated evening where Eric brings the joy, history, and irresistible rhythms of ragtime to life — an hour that will both educate and entertain.
