“PumpkinFest is the quintessential New England autumn festival, only with an emphasis on children and family fun. A city tradition attracting thousands of visitors to Westfield each year.”
PumpkinFest has as its central component, the Pumpkin Carving Tent, under which children and their families may carve or decorate free gutted pumpkins – more than 1,200, while supplies last. Once pumpkins are carved and/or decorated, they may be placed in the Pumpkin Patch around a giant pumpkin sculpture for later pickup and display.
Westfield G & E and Whip City Fiber are powering up a brand‑new PumpkinFest attraction: a Games Tent, a lively zone built for pure family fun. Kids and grownups to are invited to dive into hands‑on challenges, whimsical activities, and skill‑testing games. With friendly competitions and laugh‑out‑loud moments, this new space is set to become a can’t‑miss stop for families celebrating the season.
In addition to spending the guarding and gutting the pumpkins the night before. Scouting America Troops #821 and #124, will once again introduce the world of scouting with an encampment, featuring games, demonstrations and even a “S’mores” campfire.
Community booths introduce attendees to the work of local businesses and organizations that serve the needs of people throughout the Westfield area. Many booths offer hands‑on activities for children, while spotlighting their good work.
Area food vendors offer an array of tasty items for lunch or just a treat.
The Vendor Marketplace will host artisans, crafters and vendors with a wide variety of merchandise. These include vendors selling everything from textiles, fine visual art to superb hand-made crafts.
In conjunction with PumpkinFest, WOW will also present its seventh drive-by tour of Haunted Houses from October 17 thru 31. Residences will be shown and listed on an interactive map. Folks may sign up throughout the month at PumpkinFest or register by submitting their address on Facebook.
