The Whip City celebrates the season with its first Tree Jubilee, a special fundraiser to support all the family fun events of Westfield on Weekends throughout the year. Thanks to the Westfield News Group and many generous individuals, groups and businesses, Westfield Creative Arts is transformed into a wonderland of decorated Christmas trees. Trees will be taken home by the lucky winners of the Tree Jubilee raffle that will be drawn at the end of the Jubilee on December 9. While at the Jubilee, do some shopping at the DecemberFest Crafts Shoppe!
Tree Donors: Trees can be set up and wreaths dropped off on Saturday, November 17th from noon to 2:00 p.m.; Monday November 19th from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or Tuesday November 20th from noon to 4:00 p.m.

The Lantern Light Parade and the Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony on Park Square Green -- Saturday, December 1
Let DecemberFest officially begin! Join us for a concert by the Westfield High School Show Choir at 6:00 pm led by director Korey Bruno on the south stage of the Green. Joining the choir will be the New England Dance Center Dance Team, choreographed by director Lesley Lambert.
For families that want to join the parade, The Lantern Light Parade begins at 6:15pm, stepping off from the Family Dollar on Franklin St. down Elm St. to Park Square. The festive line of marchers include Westfield Mayor Brian Sullivan, city officials, representatives from community organizations; and of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus. Returning this year are the Giant Puppets, by Anne Cubberly - always a hit. Promenade though downtown to Park Square, our town green, Directly following the Lantern Light Parade, the Mayor’s Tree Lighting sparkles at Park Square, our downtown green. Mayor Brian Sullivan, together with Santa and community representatives, will light the twinkling lights of the city’s 20-foot holiday tree. It’s a true celebration of community.
First Night – A Westfield350 Celebration

Ring in the New Year with a family event that kicks off Westfield's celebration of its founding 350 years ago. Produced by Westfield350, happenings begin at 4:00 pm with a parade - assembly at 3:30 pm at Amelia Park Ice Arena - followed by events at the Amelia Park Ice Arena, the Amelia Park Children’s Museum, the Boys and Girls Club, and Amelia’s garden. The fun include Ice Sculptures, a Dance Party, Music, Food, a Teen Rock Band, a Bounce House, a S’mores Roast, a Magic Show and much more! Fireworks end the Festivities at 7:00 pm. Participants will be invited to enjoy a self-guided tour of 6 of Westfield's loveliest abodes, all decked out in DecemberFest style. This year’s event is the grandest ever – from the historic Hedges House to a gorgeous newly restored Victorian residence to a designer-owned country house that shines brightly in every one of its many rooms. We even have a Holiday House House Tour Door Prize -- A large screen TV will be going home with one lucky participant!

Santa’s Family Workshop
Saturday, December 1, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, Westfield Middle School Cafeteria, West Silver Street - FREE!
Everyone has a chance to learn how to instantly create colorful lanterns, streamers and more for the Lantern Light Parade at this FREE workshop, overseen by Santa’s elves and jolly old Saint Nick himself, who has journeyed from the North Pole. Materials will be provided for the many children, groups and families who have made the workshop a tradition and who proudly hold their creations. as they march in the Lantern Light Parade, later in the day. Everyone has a great time at Santa’s Family Workshop. Come join the fun and visit Santa at the same time.

The Mayor honors our Jewish community of Westfield on the third night of Hanukah. Rabbi Efraim Eisen of Congregation Ahavas Achim and Westfield State’s Albert and Amelia Fest Interfaith Center leads a inspiring ceremony of love, light and laughter. A Latke Party follows at the Boys and Girls Club. Everyone is welcome. Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel!
